FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does solar cost?

You're gonna hate this answer but it depends! We can tell you this though, the average solar system in Las Vegas should cost around $24,000 for an 8kW solar system. If you're a low energy user, it will be less but if you're high energy user, it will be more.

How do I know if my home is good for solar?

There are 3 main factors that determine if your home is good for solar:

1. Your roof direction (or azimuth) in relation to the sun

2. Shade from surrounding structures (trees, buildings, etc.)

3. The amount of usable roof space (square footage, roof obstructions, etc.)

How many solar panels do I need?

Another one you're gonna hate but it depends! The wattage of the panels and overall location efficiency will determine how many panels you need. For example, a perfect roof with no shade might only need 20 - 400 watt panels. Another roof with lots of obstructions and tree shade might need 30 - 400 watt panels.

What happens to my roof?

A reputable installer will inspect the roof condition and make sure it is suitable with solar. If it's not, they will likely disqualify the home or recommend a new roof. Once panels are installed on a roof, the penetrations should be covered by some sort of warranty.

What happens if I move or sell the house?

Most solar systems, along with the loan or lease terms, are transferrable and assumable to the next owner.

What type of warranty is included?

There are 2 general types of warranties; workmanship and equipment. Workmanship warranties cover all the labor and repairs involved with the solar system, while equipment warranties are normally provided by the manufacturer.
