Let's be honest, the solar industry has a bad reputation and it needs to be fixed!
My mission to provide homeowners the TRUTH about solar.
With over 10 years experience in the residential solar industry, as a leader at Tesla (SolarCity) or running my own solar sales company, I want to share the complete picture so homeowners understand the benefits and drawbacks of solar energy.
Electricity rates continue to increase every year between 3-5%. This means that the cost to power your home DOUBLES about every 20 years!
When you go solar, you no longer have to buy electricity from your electric company and deal with their constant rate increases.
If you decide to finance your system through a loan or a lease, you know exactly what you have to pay every month, no more surprises.
Paired with a backup battery system, you could still have power even if the grid were to go down.
We educate homeowners about the facts of solar energy and how it can potentially benefit them.
We are not installers but we do partner with them.
If you're a homeowner and would like to get a proposal, we will introduce you to a vetted and trusted installer in your area.
Currently we only work with homeowners who live in Las Vegas.
You're gonna hate this answer but it depends! We can tell you this though, the average solar system in Las Vegas should cost around $24,000 for an 8kW solar system. If you're a low energy user, it will be less but if you're high energy user, it will be more.
There are 3 main factors that determine if your home is good for solar:
1. Your roof direction (or azimuth) in relation to the sun
2. Shade from surrounding structures (trees, buildings, etc.)
3. The amount of usable roof space (square footage, roof obstructions, etc.)
Another one you're gonna hate but it depends! The wattage of the panels and overall location efficiency will determine how many panels you need. For example, a perfect roof with no shade might only need 20 - 400 watt panels. Another roof with lots of obstructions and tree shade might need 30 - 400 watt panels.
A reputable installer will inspect the roof condition and make sure it is suitable with solar. If it's not, they will likely disqualify the home or recommend a new roof. Once panels are installed on a roof, the penetrations should be covered by some sort of warranty.
Most solar systems, along with the loan or lease terms, are transferrable and assumable to the next owner.
There are 2 general types of warranties; workmanship and equipment. Workmanship warranties cover all the labor and repairs involved with the solar system, while equipment warranties are normally provided by the manufacturer.
"Brian was a professional and answered all the questions I had. The installer was professional and timely and kept us updated throughout the entire process."
"Brian was amazing and connected us with a company that had a great
warranty! Tier 1 equipment, competitively priced, and great service. Highly recommend!"
"I recommend Brian and his local installer to everyone I know! My system was installed within a few weeks and turned on about 30 days after that!"
